On 03/21/2017 at 03:11am, Morgan County Deputies were advised by dispatch of a pursuit that began in Benton County. Benton County Deputies were involved in a pursuit with a white Ford F-150. The pursuit started after law enforcement were dispatched to a gas station for a vehicle leaving and not paying for fuel. Morgan County Deputies were advised the vehicle had stolen license plates out of Jackson Missouri.
A short time later, Benton County Sheriff’s Office ended the pursuit and were searching a wooded area on foot for the vehicle. At approximately 3:50am, Morgan County Deputies located the vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 135, south of Stover. Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle did not stop.
The vehicle turned down a county road and continued to attempt to evade law enforcement. The driver of the vehicle lost control and the vehicle ran through a large metal fence post. The vehicle continued to travel off the road, driving through fences and barbed wire, causing deputies to lose the vehicle.
At 06:07am, Morgan County Deputies located the vehicle in a creek bed, however, there was no one inside the vehicle so deputies began to search the area.
