PRESS RELEASE
On 11/17/2016 Morgan County Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle north of Versailles city limits. While responding to the location, deputies met the vehicle southbound on Highway D. Once the vehicle passed the deputies, deputies observed the driver throw something from the vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle and the item thrown out was recovered.
The item recovered from the roadway was a large zip-loc bag that contained 10 individually packaged small baggies that contained a crystal substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine. Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to the Morgan County Jail and a search warrant was executed on the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle 2 more baggies were found between the passenger seat and passenger door, which field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Charges were filed on Eric J. Hunter of Gravois Mills and Jamie S. Scott of Versailles. Both subjects are being held in the Morgan County Jail. Hunter was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and is held on a $100,000, ten percent cash or Surety Bond. Scott was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and is being held on a $50,000 ten percent Cash or Surety bond.
